A common complaint of all types of GAC filters is pressure drop (typically 5-7 psid @1 gpm), reduced flow and water forming channels thru the GAC media which results in less contact time and absorption.

Unlike GAC filters, Carbon Block cartridges will not channel or bypass due to the extreme uniformity of their extruded activated carbon core.
